My all time favorite cold weather boots
I have to tell you that I absolutely love these boots. They are functionally extremely warm, perfect for subzero temperatures. They have enough traction on the bottoms so that you can walk safely through snow and ice. Your feet will definitely stay warm and dry.
These boots are also very eye-catching and no matter where I go and what I'm doing, people will stop and compliment them. (If you are looking for non-descript, subtle boots, these are not the boots for you.) I wear them with skinny jeans, leggings, gym clothes, cords, and with my ski pants.
I tried on both the black and white boots at the Telluride Overland store and ended up going for the white ones. It was a hard decision and frankly, I would have been happy with either. I wear a true women's shoe size 7 and followed customer service's recommendation that I order a size 7 in the Prestige boot. Even though Tecnica says that these boots run true to size, I found them to run a little big even if I wear thick wool ski socks. (A friend of mine who wears a 7.5-8 shoe size also bought a size 7 in this boot so I definitely could have gone at least a half size smaller, had a 6.5 been available.)
The inside of the boot is warm and soft shearling, which keeps your feet warm, dry, and comfy. The goat hair is durable and much coarser than fox fur so I don't worry at all if my boots get wet or muddy - I just wipe clean and air dry. I prefer this style to the other Tecnica fur boots I have that have the leather laces. It is easy to slip these boots on and off, but I don't worry that they will accidentally come off (or that I will step out of them). Now that I have multiple Tecnica fur boot styles, I find that the laces are an unnecessary distraction and inconvenience, and prefer the Prestige to my Yaghis.
To sum it up, these are fabulous boots and worth every penny!
