falling apart
I bought this coat after trying it on in the store. It is absolutely beautiful! However, within 1 week, the inside button had fallen off and the stitching holding the pocket in place had come undone. The top button near the collar was so loose as to be hanging. I brought it back to the store and was told that I can leave the coat there for a couple of days to be repaired by their local seamstress. I declined the offer, partly because I had worn the coat to the store and didn't want to be cold on the way home. I had hoped to exchange it for another one, but they said they didn't have any more in stock either in the store or nationwide. Three days later, when the manager finally found time to contact me, I was almost ready to let them repair it (which is frustrating since I don't want an expensive coat that has to be immediately repaired!). The next morning, the metal tag broke!.
The manager has also now informed me that buttons on the coats are purposefully loosened before they arrive to the stores to help people try them on! For a company that seems to pride itself on craftsmanship, this seems bizarre. The manager told me that I can wait until someone else returns one and then I can exchange mine for that one (assuming that nothing is broken on that coat). These coats are not cheap and I would have expected both better quality and better customer service.
