Not what I expected

This is a quality made item with quality materials. However, although the hat fit it was a small fit and I wanted a oversized fit. The back of the hat has a curved cutout at the base of the skull which exposes your neck to the elements, and this more then anything made it unexceptable to me. It is also made from a soft suede like leather that I can't imagine stopping rain,or wet snow. I had expected a hard smooth leather like the Army Air Corp orignally used and when I looked at the catalog picture that is what I saw. A return to Overland was no prolem

Thrilled

If I had two heads, I'd buy another one

The grain of the leather pieces match perfectly, high quality materials and workmanship. I also own a B-3 jacket. The shearling and leather of the hat transition seamlessly to it. It took me a little bit to figure out how to pull the flaps back. (Placing the strap below the adjusting buckle in the back and just above where the shearling comes out of the back works for me.) The fit is perfect, plenty of room for adjustments. With that said, the straps are a functioning part of the hat and should have brass eyelets to give it a more rugged and authentic feel, something I plan on having done. Overall, high quality construction, top quality materials, very satisfied with my purchase!
