Skye Hooded Alpaca Wool-Blend Cape with Fur Trim

I'm a 1st generation Chilean American and my grandmother was Mapuche. Poncho style coats originated with the Mapuche in Chile, so I was interested in a warm alpaca poncho style coat to honor my grandmother's Mapuche heritage and because I remember these being very warm when I wore them as a child. I searched online and found this cape via Pinterest and it is exactly what I was looking for: it honors my family's heritage and Mapuche roots, while being warm, soft, and absolutely beautiful. I love I can hold my arms/hands under the poncho to keep them warm, as well as have easier access to carry a bag under the poncho. My handbags were always getting caught over a traditional coat/hood and was just bulky. So glad I bought this poncho, definitely a piece I'll pass down through my family. Absolutely worth the price. A heritage worthy coat.

I was in Breckenridge and decided to finally go in the Overland store. I had passed this store dozens of times. The store was huge inside and I gravitated to this beautiful cape as they truly flatter the figure. It is a heavy (but not too heavy), wonderful quality cape that will keep you warm. I have worn it out in the Colorado cold and I felt amazing. It's plush and silky-soft fox fur makes me feel like a million dollars. I literally hug this thing while it's on and sigh happily. I get SO many compliments on it every time I wear it, and stares from afar. I am in my 40's and been through a lot in life and didn't know an article of clothing could make me feel so different and happy. Since this piece is white, I will only wear it on important occasions, but I pray I can afford the Ashby (brown) one so I can wear it more often. Plus this one garners too much attention to wear out on normal occasions (I am serious when I say I feel bad wearing this around like I am super pretentious). The brown is better for every day I imagine. Anyway, I am not sure if items like this discontinue, but if they do, I would not wait, but I recommend going in and trying these special items on if that's possible and trying on the different colors. I was surprised I bought a white item but it ended up flattering me most. Next time I wear it I will post photos here. Thanks to my hubby for letting me buy this!

This was the biggest splurge ever and worth the price! This may be the only clothing item I have ever ordered that looked exactly like the photo! After reading reviews, I pulled the trigger and purchased this gorgeous cape. You can dress it up or down, and color is beautiful! It shipped immediately and so excited to show it off!!

First, I bought the brown cape and I didn't think it looked good with my coloring (blonde). I returned it and purchased this winter white and love it! I have gotten so many compliments on it! I was vert happy with the return policy and Dennis at the Lake Geneva location was great!

Enjoying how the coat fits, swings and feels. The lining is smooth. But I felt to short for the coat. I will be keeping this item. It is perfect!

I just bought this for a very special occasion. I needed this to wear over a gorgeous velvet gown, I will be outside for this special event:). I tried this on, and it is just stunningly beautiful. Most of the reviews said their wives or the women stated more casual. I grabbed this for dress, and I was right. So stunning. I have many furs, and I have bought from Overland many times. You can't go wrong with quality and workmanship. I love this. I am 5'2" 145, it fits wonderfully. I can't wait to wear it!
