PRODUCT DETAILS

American made and built to last, this ruggedly handsome leather backpack carries all your essentials and so much more. Crafted from heirloom-quality Horween leather, this durable carryall has a double-zip top flap with roomy interior featuring a snap-over slide pocket measuring 9"x11"; an inner zip pocket; and four pouches for pens, cell phones, and sunglasses. Exterior details include a rear locking concealed carry pocket, a front pouch with double leather-strap closure and turning clasps, a side slip pocket perfect for stashing plane tickets, and side keychain clips. The Pioneer is lined in durable cotton twill with leather trim.

Hello! This bag is Horween, which is a waxed leather, so it would be water resistant, but not water proof. It is 17.50 inches high, 12 inches wide and 5 inches deep. This would hold most laptops of average size.

Good not great

Horween leather is excellent. Just not enough pockets and needs steel feet in bottom. Padded straps and back would have been good with the leather. No expandability zipper to make the backpack bigger (yes more leather, but what about a 2 inch swath?). Overall, just an average bag that is made of Horween leather.

Exactly as described and pictured!

I purchased this backpack for business, specifically commuting and occasional travel. It arrived in 2 days. The signature required was great to make sure it arrived at my home. The smell when you opened the box is amazing. I've had the bag for a week and carried it around a conference at a large hotel. Very comfortable. Easy to handle. The interior is roomy. I had a laptop, oversized zippered notebook, water bottle, and shawl inside. I decided to use the outside pocket for a compact umbrella. I received A LOT of compliments on the bag. The concealed carry is roomy and the zip can be locked. I use it for spare keys because I don't carry. You won't be disappointed. The leather is heavy duty but not heavy. The zipper was a little stiff but it's become easier to pull. It's definitely something to keep for years of daily use.

Worth every penny, high quality leather

I purchased this after researching the heck out of leather backpacks and messengers. I settled on this one, and I'm not disappointed. It's top quality leather, the smell is unbelievable. Most important to me is the capacity. I have a laptop and a large zip around notebook inside. And there's still room! I'm not a concealed weapon holder, but I can say the concealed carry space is roomy. It can be locked very efficiently, so I plan to use it for spare keys. The straps do not slide! It's a little stiff but to be expected. I'm looking forward to using this for the office and travel. BTW this purchase is a replacement for a 14 yr old bag from LL Bean.
