Its the compromise.

Nice jacket, Bought as opposed to the $1300 cockpit version and overall the cost difference is well worth it to save the money. Will be looking for a higher end model from Overland.

this leather is so soft that it tears.

I have worn it less than ten times and the elbows are showing wear already and the leather straps don't cover the inside which is white. I kept it hung up and I would hate to see what happened it I wore it more than occasionally,

Wow, simply perfect!!!

Finally, I am able to replace my father's original jacket from WWII that was stolen from me. I have looked for years for a suitable jacket that was worthy of wearing. This is it! From the classic styling to the exquisite workmanship and warmth, this certainly echoes the lineage from which it is derived. There are relatively minor differences between an original and this, but only for the better. I will wear this for decades to come! Now all I need to do is find an artist talented enough to recreate the nose art and mission bombs of the original! I am 6 foot and 185 lbs and wear 17x34/35 shirts and I ordered a Medium (40 inch chest). It fits perfectly, if that helps anyone trying to decide between sizes. Thanks Overland for an awesome product.
