Overland Bremer Convertible Canvas and Leather Handbag

I've been looking for a casual but elegant bag that's big enough to carry a macbook air to work but can also function at a purse at other times. It needed to have a shoulder strap, handles to pull it out of the car, a place for a phone and keys,and be reasonably secure for everyday use. This meets all the criteria. Without the laptop, the top flops over reducing it's size. I keep a wallet, gloves, make-up bag, small 3x5 notebook and occasionally a knit hat in the bottom. Functional with a certain rustic elegance. The only "con". The magnetic snap is not terribly secure. When the top is folded over it's more so but I wouldn't carry this traveling. Too easy to pickpocket. But for everyday use it works for me. Did I mention I get complements when I carry it and that I love it?

I bought this bag for the purpose of everyday use. I was hesitant on the size (being a little large for my personal preference), but now that I am using it, the bag is perfect for my needs and the items I need to put in it. I still carry a personal calendar book and this is accommodated. The canvas is thick and the leather is great quality, not thin by any means. The bag is heavier than a conventional one, but well worth the few extra ounces because of the quality. The interior is not lined and has a smaller pocket for necessities. The cell phone pocket would not accommodate, I don't think, a larger iPhone model (I have a 6s and it's fine). The strap is a heavy cotton and not the same color as the bag. The bag color actually looks more charcoal to me where the strap is chocolate brown. I still like it and will keep it. Overall it's a 5!
