With all the flair of a Spanish flat top gaucho, this classic profile makes a striking presentation. It’s fashioned in smooth naturally water resistant wool felt, and embellished with a braided leather bolo cord that slides through the eyelets as a handy chinstrap to anchor the hat on windy days, while the wide, flat brim shades you from the rays.

Not What I Expected

I found the actual hat to be of a lesser quality wool felt than I expected for the price. The real killer however, were the too large holes for the chin straps which let the sunlight flow through them creating two very distracting bright spots against a dark hat. I was very excited about finding a dark brown hat and really wanted to love it. Instead I'm just sadly disappointed. I have already returned it.

Beautiful and stylish black hat!

Last year, I purchased the Mesa Sueded Merino Wool hat in chocolate. Apparently you have discontinued this style. While The Mesa Wool Felt Gaucho is very nice that I recently purchased, I would love to see the previous hat reinstated. Your hats are wonderfully made, and the quality shows.
