Definitely a solid boot and investment for Canadian Weather, I do like that it is a waterproof suede which does attract attention as a lot of people wear leather during winter. I wore it out of the box and it kept my feet dry. I usually watch were I step and salt hasn't affected the boot but it's too early to say if the pre treated waterproof from factory will prevent salt stains. My only concern is what are the best ways to re apply the waterproofing when it does wear down as care instructions do say not to use store products and to clean with water which isn't the best way to clean suede as my research on keeping suede clean, stain resistant, and waterproofed says otherwise. Either then that it's a great purchase and with the right care this boot will last a very long time looking forward to wearing it again in a snowstorm we are getting here in Toronto
