Fantastic Coat

5 5

Highest of quality. The Overland Store didn't have the color I wanted, but they made arrangements, and I had the coat mailed to my home, two days later. The Customer Service at the store was great. I can't say enough about this coat. Along with my O'Farrell Hat, I'll be ready for any social event with my wife. Many thanks.

Love This Coat!

5 5

This is the third Overland Coat I've purchased and probably my favorite of the three. I bought it several years ago at the Overland store in Chicago and have never regretted the expense. It's a high quality, long coat that you can wear most of the year. Although, if the temperature is about forty degrees or above, you'll want to not zip it up. Guarantee it'll keep you nice and warm and look great the whole time. If I had one (very, very small) criticism, it would be the interior pockets. They're way down on the lower corners of the coat and they don't fit much of anything. An interior slit pocket on both sides would be just about perfect. But that doesn't detract from the look or functionality of this coat. If you're debating the expense-don't. This coat is worth every penny.

A real workhorse

Yes, it's expensive, but it's true what they say. I live at high altitude in rural Wyoming and wear this jacket almost every day of the year. The McKinley is rugged: snow, rain, high winds, there's no weather you can throw at this jacket that it can't handle. A phenomenal wind breaker at 45mph+ winds, the longer length is also a real plus in wet weather. An added bonus is the collar, which can be pulled up high to help block the wind or biting gnats. The shearling lined pockets are a hidden gem. I was hesitant to pull the trigger at this price point but thank myself on a near daily basis for having done so. I suspect you will as well.

Greatest Coat I Have Ever Owned!

5 5

This is hands down the highest quality, best looking coat I have ever owned. I contemplated purchasing the coat for a couple of months given the price. I am so glad that I bought it. Random people will comment on how great the coat looks every single time I where it. I followed some advice and sized down from my typical 42 to a 40. Perfect fit. Go ahead and get your own, you know you want it!

Lifetime purchase

5 5

My wife has been trying to get me to buy a sheepskin coat from Overland for the past couple of years. I bought a less expensive sheepskin coat from Overland a year ago, but it had a flaw so needed to be returned, which they handled very graciously. We just visited the Overland store in Santa Fe, where Philippe (sp?) helped me try on several different varieties. We kept coming back to the McKinley, even though we knew it was twice as expensive as almost all of their other sheepskin coats. It just felt better in every respect. I never thought I would pay this much for a single item of clothing, but my wife reminded me that this is a lifetime purchase, and I will not regret it after having owned it for a few years. As it turns out, I have owned the coat only for a few days and already feel like I made a very good decision. We ended up getting the dark forest color, which I really love. I am 6'4" and weigh 225 pounds. I ended up getting a 46, which fits perfectly. It is strange to admit this, but I am a vegetarian that doesn't want to contribute to the use of animals for eating. However, I also have type one diabetes and have a lot of problems with circulation and being cold. This is why I have a sheepskin hat, sheepskin mittens, and sheepskin slippers from Overland. I just don't think anything man-made compares to the warmth and comfort that you can get from good quality animal products. I am looking forward to many evening walks with my wife and our two collie dogs while wearing my McKinley sheepskin coat, and other Overland sheepskin products.

Expensive, but a quality product

I ordered a 44. I'm a 6' 200lb kind of guy and it fits perfectly. Very soft comfy leather and shearling interior full body and sleeves. I do wish it had an interior chest pocket. Sizes for this coat seem to run true which hasn't been my experience with other Overland coats. Garment bag included, but too short for the length of the coat. I have no idea why there are a few negative reviews regarding the quality of this coat. I tried on several and found them all to be top notch.

Really Beautiful, But sleeves are a bit short

5 5

I really love my coat, and the one I bought for my husband. My only complaint is that the sleeves could be a bit longer. On the men's McKinley size 42 coat, sleves should be at least 1.5 inches longer. Same on the women's Dakota Hooded Toscana Sheepskin Coat. The catalog photo shows a generous fur cuff turned back, but in reality, they barely turn back one inch. I am 5'5" normal body weight, of German, Scotish descendants.

Heirloom Quality Craftsmanship

I was very hesitant to pick this up, $3900 (after tax) is kind of a lot of money for a coat you may only wear 3 or 4 months a year, but I am so happy I did. I have been eyeing it for a while and the shop in Omaha happened to have one, I tried it on and it fit, so I pulled the trigger. From the first moment you touch it and put it on you know that this is is something special you will pass down to your children one day. If you are even thinking about it, just do it, you won't regret it.

Longmire Coat(McKinley Cappaccino)

5 5

I picked up my Longmire coat last weekend in Omaha. They had obtained a size 44 that we planned to use for measurements. I assumed the coat would need to be custom made so that the sleeves would be long enough since I wear 35 inch sleeves. However, the coat fit perfectly. I left the store with the coat, but since it was 93 degrees I didn't wear it. The quality is great and I expect it to last a lifetime. My wife had previously purchased the Piper model and it was just as high quality.
