Sumptuously soft and warm, our baby alpaca wrap is the shortest distance between you and instant warmth. Earthy contrast hues make this lovely wrap the one you’ll reach for when breezes stir. And it reverses to a colorful palette that offsets the grays of winter. Whichever side you wear it on, this alpaca wrap looks and feels wonderful. 100% alpaca wool. Reversible. 28" long, 51" wide.

“Baby Alpaca” refers to the fineness of the alpaca wool—not the age of the animal—and is one of the softest grades of alpaca wool, most often compared to Merino wool in feel. Softer, lighter, and warmer than sheep’s wool, baby alpaca wool is naturally water-repellent and a thermal insulator, even when wet. Because alpaca wool contains no lanolin, it’s also hypoallergenic and can be worn next to the skin (it doesn’t cause that “scratchy” feeling in those sensitive to regular wool products). Over 80% of alpaca wool comes from Peru, supporting over 50,000 families living in the Andes mountains; it is widely considered one of the most eco-friendly natural fibers.

Very pretty but....

Very pretty but not as soft as I thought it would be. Seems durable, is well made and thick but not too thick. My biggest complaint is the regular white tag on this reservable cape that needs to be removed if it is to be reversed. With the cost of this high end piece you should have put an attractive Overland logo in a non-conspicuous corner.

Stunning cape!

I love this cape! It is so soft and heavier than I expected, so of course it keeps me warm. It's a perfect cape and I have gotten lots of compliments on how pretty it is too! Excellent price.

My favorite thing to wear ever!

My sister bought this for me at the Durango store. It's beautiful color and pattern caught my eye -- love at first sight! I wore it on a cross country trip in winter--through Colorado, Utah, Kansas--freezing temps. I would just throw it on and be perfectly warm. Even if I was standing in the cold, the dense weave of the fabric kept me totally warm. Not even biting wind was a match! It has really good heft to the fabric--nice and thick! I love it!

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. We have both enjoyed purchasing items from Overland Sheepskin Co. My family has a house in Taos. I bought my first sheep skin coat when they were just south of the plaza on the main road. This was in 1975.

Beautiful and Warm!

I absolutely love this wrap. Both sides are beautiful and it's so nice to have the option of reversing it to meet my needs. It is warm and cozy, like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket. I am usually sensitive to wool, but this does not bother me at all. I have gotten so many compliments on it and it came so quickly. I usually don't splurge on myself but I fell in love with this and am so glad I bought it. It is worth every penny. My only complaint is that the tag is tightly sewn into one side and it is difficult to remove without damaging the fabric. I have other reversible garments where the tag is loosely sewn in with one or two stitches. Perhaps in the future you could consider this. Otherwise...LOVE IT!
