Soft Sleeper Luxury
Great coat. I've been looking for a nice, warm, soft, not plastic, not noisy jacket, and this checks my boxes. I love that it could pass as a normal "sherpa lined" hoodie (until you notice it is leather or feel the wool). The leather is super soft, and the wool is of course also super soft. The sleeves have wool in them as well. It is windproof and very cozy.
I'm 6'2" 170lbs and I got the 40R - fits great. The cuffs do seem a bit large as another review noted, and they are not exactly the same size. Doesn't look weird, though.
I got the brown. I'm sure the color varies per-jacket, but mine is much more of a consistent (i.e. solid), slightly darker brown than what is depicted. If there was a lighter color like gray, I would have preferred that.
The drawstrings are functional, but barely. They are hard to cinch, and the shape of the drawstrings are not conducive to pulling through the hood or sliding the stop. I tried once and one of the drawstrings did not look the same after. The drawstrings are not circular - they are just a thin piece of leather folded and stitched.
The hood rests rather wide on your back, but I kind of like that it shows off the soft looking wool. The hood is also roomy when worn. But because the zipper doesn't go as high as a parka and the drawstrings aren't good, you can't snug up the hood.
Note that the jacket does have one internal pocket. The left waist pocket also has a zippered pocket only accessible from the inside of the jacket. It would be nice to have an inbreast pocket as well. The side pockets are usable but a bit too shallow. It would be nice if they were lined with wool.
Although I love the jacket and don't regret buying it, I'm a little embarrassed I spent this much. Maybe the price should be a bit lower since it is a smaller jacket and presumably uses less material.
