Got another because the 40 didn't fit

I ended up getting another one of these when the 42 came back in stock and it was 100% a returned item. The leather collar was loose as heck, the item was without a doubt used, and the original plastic from the first set of tags was still attached at a spot close to the tag without ever being removed. It wasn't even nicely reset and cleaned and such. I'm still happy to have a good size that fits, but dang, a little effort would've gone a long way. There's some seriously quality things from Overland available and this is one of them, but at minimum this should've been discounted.

Runs small

Absolutely phenomenal jacket. Truly warm and cozy. It does run small however. I've noticed, after owning over 10 overland coats, that there is a heavy inconsistency with sizing. Some coats/jackets are perfect (I normally wear a 40 off the rack), or they run small. I've never had one run big, but they either run true to size of small. This one is not a 40. My tailor measured it to be a 38/39, but I ordered a 40. It will stretch with time, and for now it will definitely work, but the length differences (torso) between all the coats/jackets I own is extreme. The tailors definitely should be using the same sizing chart no matter where each coat is made to maintain consistency. I'd size up for this one, but the quality is absolutely top notch! I'll take any excuse to where it and stretch it out

Excellent

Outstanding quality. Looks and fits exactly as shown. I'm very happy with this choice. Great comfortable feel. I've looked at a lot of overland coats in stores and in the catalog and you can feel confident choosing this from my experience.
