Lacey Shearling Sheepskin Bomber Jacket

I will use the LACEY for cool/cold winter days. I love the design and workmanship. Another winner from OVERLAND KUDOS!!!

I love that my coat has a moto jacket style with built-in extreme warmth, softness and comfort. It's the perfect fit for a petite woman and has gotten me through a very cold New York City winter with high windshield.

Firstly, this jacket in itself looks amazing. Quality is top notch and color is exactly like the picture. However, it didn't look great on me. I'm petite, 4ft 11in, 98 lbs. XS looked a little bulky on me. Sleeves were long. The jacket is so heavy and stiff that you cannot even attempt to roll or push sleeves up. Sadly I had to return.

I was a little concerned about the low number of reviews on this cute jacket but couldn't stop thinking about it. My husband knew I was infatuated and ordered it for my Valentine's Day gift. It is perfect! It's not too short, hitting mid-hip on my 5'6" frame. Being 125 lbs with an athletic build, the size small fit like it was made for me with plenty of room for my broader-than-average shoulders. In my opinion, the longer bombers look bulky on most women but so cute on the catalog models precisely because they are a few inches taller, very fit, and the bottom of the coat is above the widest part of the hip. It's a great look this slightly shorter bomber offers someone more my size! The Lacey distressed leather exterior is incredibly soft and a medium brown with only a subtle hint of burnt orange. The interior and collar is a beautiful cream color, not too white (which I personally don't care for), and extremely plush. I hate to admit it, but the quality, fit, color, and style of this jacket appeals to me even more than the Sandra coat purchased previously. The Lacey bomber is the perfect everyday jacket choice for me!

This was my first time purchasing from Overland, and I am someone who meticulously scours the internet for reviews before I commit to purchasing anything, especially with a new brand. The fact that there was only one three star review was discouraging for me, because the product appeared to be everything I was looking for: genuine shearling, the perfect distressed medium brown leather, and enough details to stand out without being too much. After a lot of thought, I decided to pull the trigger. I'm so glad I did! It is extremely high quality at a lower price point than other bombers of similar material. I am a size medium, but I sized up to a large because I wanted a lot of extra room for wool sweaters, and I didn't want it to be too cropped, which was a problem for the other reviewer. Sizing up was good because it hits me at my high hip, which gives the cropped vibe and still keeps the chill out. I will mention that if I had gotten my true size, I don't think it would have fit me as well. The shearling will most likely compact with use, but it does take up a considerable amount of space in the jacket. Keep that in mind! I would suggest sizing up at least one size if you live in a place where thick layering is necessary.

I measured the length of the garment and in theory, it should have just hit my waist right. In practice, however, the XS (my usual size) was very cropped even though I don't have a long torso. Pros: the leather was beautiful and I really liked the unique shearling shade. The classic design really attracted me to this coat and I would order a non-cropped jacket with this design! I'm also very keen on finding a clean-looking shearling jacket in a rich brown suede or leather, so this came pretty close! Cons: aside from being cropped, the zipper wasn't very smooth and the XS felt a bit tighter, but still looked nice.
