Absolutely love this coat!
I'm 5'4", 135 pounds. I wear a size 6 in pants and have a muscular build- not an hourglass shape, nor a tiny waist. I don't have those slender, feminine arms, but they're not fat arms either. Just kind of normal. I hate coats that are too snug in the arms and you strain to put your arms forward. All coats were tried on with a tank top plus a medium to heavier weight cashmere sweater over it. The black Kaye Merino shearling, size medium is my perfect coat. I ordered 4 coats to help me decide which coat was perfect for me. Keep reading for my comps. The Theodora: the more hourglass cut wasn't flattering on me. I was surprised at this, but it made me feel chunky. The medium size fit just ok. If you have a tiny waist like my friend Priscilla, this may be the perfect coat for you. But not for my more rectangular body type. The length of the Theodora was a little too in the middle, not long enough for certain dresses, but too long on me as a casual every day coat. It looked great with heels, but that's not what I'll be wearing most of the time. The third coat: the more casual Delano in large. Large was too big on me. It is an anorak style. The drawstring on the waist is a fantastic and slimming idea! It's a great length but the navy blue and black fox trim didn't do it for me. It's gorgeous, but my eye kept going back to the Kaye Merino Shearling. The fourth coat I tried was the Chantal reversible coat in black, medium. The medium size was spot on. It's also a gorgeous coat- but just a tad too frou-frou for me. The fur trim is just gorgeous but it felt a little too shouty "I'm wearing fur" for me. And it doesn't have a hood. So back to my perfect coat: the Kay Merino is elegant and can look fancy but not too fancy. I love the hood option the Kaye Merino has. The toscana trim politely screams "elegant" but not "I'm wearing FUR". It's just more understated. The hood is SOOOO lush and just gorgeous and yet the coat still retains its lush look when off
