Another Excellent Jacket from Overland
I was in Santa Fe for the afternoon two weeks ago. There were so many tourists that I decided to escape to one of my favorite stores. I tried on several other jackets in the store and then tried this one no (see photo). There was simply no question - this one was softer, and fit my body frame better and looked great! The jacket hem just falls a tiny bit above mid-thigh. The sleeves are just a little bit long (which I prefer). If I curl my fingers up with them hanging at my sides, they just capture the hem. This fit is perfect for me.
Oh yes, I love the color of the jacket and it feels like heaven to touch. This is a lighter weight jacket than the one I purchased last year. That one could keep you warm in a blizzard. This one is not as heavy to wear but still I can zip it up and stay warm when it's say 30F outside.
Did I tell you it has pockets inside? Yes there are 2 breast pockets - one of each side and they are zippered in case you have something that you don't what to fall out. The exterior pockets aren't all that deep, but I don't think they should be. I can put my hand inside up to my wrist and my hand stays warm.
The collar and the zipper portion of the jacket face can be removed using an incredibly long zipper arrangement. Sorry but I love the zipper and will probably never remove. I like to zip it up about 2/3 the way and then close the snap flap from the bottom up about 1/2 way. I looks good and keeps me warm.
This is an excellent end of winter, spring jacket. I suppose you could stay reasonably warm even in wintertime as well (but I will pull out my Overland bear jacket).
Thank you again Overland!
