Needs different shearling warming collar removal method
Overall, quite a nice coat .. very well made and obviously high quality .. James Buffed does run oversized in comparison to the Romano leather jacket and the Roy sheepskin coat that I also tried and that fit me well in size 44 .. I am 5' 10" tall and 180 # with 43" natural chest, pretty much standard American male large with no real gut .. i typically do best with coats with a 50" actual garment dimension chest measurement to give me adequate flexing movement across the back and shoulders and around the chest .. coats that run 49" actual chest garment measurement can often work if there is a shoulder flare in the coat behind the shoulder, but smaller than that in the chest are always too tight .. James Buffed coat size 38 has 49" actual chest garment, size, 40 is 51" and size 42 is 53" .. I had thought that the size 40 and 51" chest would be best, but this particular coat is a full length body coat that is more akin to an overcoat length .. the leather on the James Buffed is really high quality somewhat thinner leather than either the Romero or the Roy and the cut down the body length of the James Buffed is more snug to the body and the size 40 with 51" chest had a 48" measurement around the hips .. I found that my 47" actual hip measurement was fit too snugly by the 48" hip garment sizing on the size 40 James Buffed .. result of this snug fit was that, even with the 51" chest, the drape of the coat sort of bound up along the small of my back and the coat puckered in the small of my back and did not drape cleanly .. going up in size to a 42 with its 53" actual chest garment size and 50" hip garment size gave me much better drape down the entire body and also had plenty of room in chest and shoulders for flexing and layering .. big design flaw I found was that removing the shearling collar removes the entire front zipper assembly also and then the only way to close the coat front was with the snaps .. this is a design flaw that needs fixing , hence only 4 stars.
