Jack Frost Leather Coat with Shearling Lining

The construction, look and feel of the jacket is superb. It's both casual and luxurious. Great build quality.

I love leather stores & I have walked into many over the years just to check things out. I first saw the Jack Frost Coat in the Lake Geneva, WI. store while on vacation. I wondered around a bit & one of the stores employees came over to ask what I was looking for. I replied jackets & he took me right over to the Jack Frost. The first thing I noticed was the feel of the leather (soft, subtle & quality) & especially the amazing leather smell. I tried on the jacket & that was it for me - then I saw the price tag & almost ran. I did not buy the jacket on that vacation, but I did stop into the same store for the next 3 days just to take a few minutes and smell the jacket. I'm sure the employees thought I was a weirdo. It took another 2 months, but that Jack Frost jacket never left my mind. Eventually I purchased it on-line. I remember the day I opened the box & that familiar smell filled the area. I've had the jacket for about 2 years now - it hangs in my closet on a solid curved hangar so I can smell it anytime I like. Very happy with my decision.

Five years ago I tried one of these on in Overlands Steamboat?? store (?? = lots of skiing that winter), and didn't buy on the spot because they didn't have my size on hand. Salesperson was great, and trying similar coats she recommended a 44L (I'm a 46L in suits (6'3, 225lbs, 36-37 sleeves (most shirts custom made)). It was one of those "why didn't I buy" things that have niggled in my brain ever since -- always regretting a bad decision. I pulled trigger this past early spring on a 44L and wow, if anything the quality has gotten better than I remember. Will never regret buying this --- styling is timeless, a LOT of "where did you get that coat" questions when eating out, and it is substantial -- don't pack in a suitcase as it is probably 10lbs (in my size). I usually do custom business shirts, have done custom tux, suits, pants + Lobb & Vass shoes......this is the finest garment I've ever owned & on the same level as Lobb/Vass shoe quality. Will own this forever.

This is one beautiful coat. The craftsmanship is superior to 99.99% of anything you find in leather goods these days. The tailor/craftsman even signed the tag inside the coat! As you can see from the listed weight, this is a substantial item. The sheepskin liner is sheared with plenty of length for warmth, and the external hide is a pebble grain beauty. I normally wear 44, but based on other reviews I went with a 42. If 42L would have been available, I would have gone that route, but the 42 fits really well. I'm 6'2", 44" chest and 36" waist (actual measurements, not vanity/clothes sizes). I would love another 1/2" in sleeve length, but that's a very minor quibble. Fits perfectly with a t-shirt or regular shirt, might be a bit snug in the chest/shoulders if wearing a sweater. It's so warm, though, I can't imagine layering a sweater. Incredible how the coat spans formal to casual and looks at home either way. So pleased I snagged one.

This coat is everything one would expect from Overland: quality materials, excellent craftsmanship, warmth, and style........worth every dollar. It's a bit heavy, but that reinforces the fact it will keep you warm and snuggly against the winter winds. It's rare to read so many positive responses on a piece of clothing. Treat yourself, make the investment. You won't regret it. It's an heirloom piece.

Just got the Jack Frost in black. Stunning. The black has brown stitching and accent, great cut, great (true) fit. Not as warm as I imagined but it gets pretty cold here.

Top quality made in the USA. A wonderful example of getting what you pay for. Top notch materials, construction & design. Beautiful coat that fits wonderful. Sizing was true to sizing chart. Truly heirloom quality and will be one for my family. Just tested it in blizzard conditions. Wonderful! I own quite a collection of motorcycle and other leather jackets and this one rates as my finest. I had purchased what I hoped would be similar that you will see in WSJ ads. No comparison - this one beats that by miles. Yes it's price was about 3 times, but value is 10 times higher. I will now be exploring other Overland products as I am delighted with this as my first purchase. Bought this one in black and love it - look, feel, everything! The brown highlights against the black really pop. Compliments on every wear. Treat yourself - you deserve it! I now regret waiting several years to pull the trigger on this beauty.

I bought this as a gift...originally wanted brown, but the size I needed was only available in black. I took a chance and ordered it in black. It is lovely! Superb quality and very warm; perfect for a cold Midwest winter.
