Exceptional Coat with some design flaws
Picked this up after stopping in a store to just try one on. They happened to have one in my size and although I had no intention of purchasing that night, after seeing it in person I just couldn't pass it up.
Pros: The quality coat itself is truly outstanding and it lives up to the premium price tag. It's also incredibly warm, I would not hesitate to wear this in frigid conditions, in fact I wish it were colder this winter so I could wear it more often. It really feels like a luxury product that will last for decades or longer.
Cons: Similar to what most others have shared there are three design issues that prevent this jacket from being absolutely perfect. First, the zipper runs way too low on the coat, making it difficult and awkward to zip up. The bottom/double zipper is slightly annoying and adds to the zipper difficulties , but it's also necessary so you can walk/sit/ do anything other than stand still while the jacket is zipped. Silver lining is that the jacket is so incredibly warm, you'll probably wear it unzipped quite frequently. Second, the snaps are far too small for a jacket this thick and heavy. They're also extremely difficult to snap with gloves. I prefer to use the snaps instead of the zipper, but some nice buttons would have been a huge design improvement. Third, the pockets are a bit awkwardly placed. They are slightly low and their location creates a strange overall jacket profile (sort of bulgy) around the pockets when it is zipped or snapped.
Overall this coat is extraordinary and truly feels like an heirloom type of product. I absolutely love it regardless of the design issues I outlined above. If you can accept the cost, I think you'll find it's well worth what you are paying.
