Sizes are confusing

I bought a size 40 based on the website guidance. According to the website, model Alfredo is 6'1" has a 34" waist and wears a 40R blazer. In the photo, he is wearing the coat over a t-shirt and sweater. There's no way he's wearing a size 40. I'm 5'9" weigh 168 and have a 33" waist. The coat was way too small even over only a t-shirt. So, do I order a 42" or 44" ?

Very Nice

It took a while for me to decide which coat to order. I ultimately chose the Elliott because of the sale price and the looks. It was a good decision. The buttery leather exterior is almost as soft as the shearling interior. The fit is true to my sports coat size. Sleeves are a tinch long, but not really an issue. Liking the length for a little extra coverage. An interior pocket or 2 would have been nice. The trim and black shearling make this a striking coat to look at, and the warmth is impressive for a coat that is neither heavy nor bulky.
