Add a cozy touch to your bed, couch, or favorite reading chair with the beautiful Bogota throw blanket, crafted in Peru from 100% baby alpaca wool. Featuring a timeless, western-inspired plaid with broad horizontal stripes, this lightweight blanket offers warmth and a buttery-soft touch wherever it’s draped. With 3" of fringe on each end.

“Baby Alpaca” refers to the fineness of the alpaca wool—not the age of the animal—and is one of the softest grades of alpaca wool, most often compared to Merino wool in feel. Softer, lighter, and warmer than sheep’s wool, baby alpaca wool is naturally water-repellent and a thermal insulator, even when wet. Because alpaca wool contains no lanolin, it’s also hypoallergenic and can be worn next to the skin (it doesn’t cause that “scratchy” feeling in those sensitive to regular wool products). Over 80% of alpaca wool comes from Peru, supporting over 50,000 families living in the Andes mountains; it is widely considered one of the most eco-friendly natural fibers.

Warm, soft, and lightweight, a wearable blanket

I bought this as a gift for my daughter who loves how soft and lightweight it is. Although I had intended it to be used as a couch throw for snuggling in her apartment, the first thing she did was wear it like a shawl. Very pleased with the quality. It's a very tight weave, so there's less concern about loose fibers escaping than with other alpaca products. I also love that it's 100% Alpaca.

Great Blanket

Everything they say about this blanket is true. To start with it is very soft and the colors are beautiful. I don't know how warm the blanket is as I use it for a throw on my always cold in winter leather couch. It does the job and beautifully. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This alpaca throw is very lightweight, fine, and smooth. The muted colors blend in well with my space. Alpaca manages to be warm, even though this is not a thick material. Luxurious treat for me.
