Retail Store Positions

Location:  All Stores

The Sales Associate is responsible for:
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Building long-lasting customer relationships
  • Maintaining sales goals and performance expectations
  • Assisting in keeping the store stocked, merchandised, clean and inviting
The Sales Associate skill set:
  • Must be able to assist with shipping and receiving
  • Ability to spend 100% of working time standing, walking, moving in the store, reaching, bending, and light lifting
  • Retail sales experience
  • Communication, interpersonal relationships
  • Proficient with computer and POS systems
  • Cash handling

The Sales Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations to achieve our customer service and operational goals. Scheduling includes a mix of day and night shifts, 7 days a week and Holidays.

Quality Control Inspector

Location:  Fairfield Iowa

The Overland Quality Control Inspector will work closely with the Product Integrity Specialist to ensure the development, implementation and management of the product inspection processes and quality reporting system.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform audits of production goods against approved company standards and relevant regulatory standards. Pull and inspect from deliveries received in our warehouse and ensure products are inspected for measurement, quality, color, etc.
  • Collect, investigate, & communicate with Management regarding product quality issues/concerns found during inspections
  • Work with Product Integrity Specialist/Inventory Teams to communicate with Customer Service Team and Retail Stores regarding product quality issues
  • Facilitate resolution of issues in partnership with inventory team. (return to vendor, retagging, etc.)
  • Build quality reporting system to track all defects found during inspections, customer complaints or reports through retail
  • Work with Product Integrity Specialist to review, analyze, and communicate quality reporting data to the Product Teams and make recommendations for overall quality improvements
  • Manage records of all Quality audits/inspections
  • Work with Product Integrity Specialist to document/establish factory and supplier processes for quality inspections before shipping product to Overland. Review product received to ensure that they are following established inspection procedures
  • Monitor factory and supplier performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports to Management
  • Work with factories and agents to report any instances of non-complying product to ensure issues are resolved and not repeated
  • Partner with Product Integrity to work on special projects as assigned
  • Possible travel may be required
Job Based Competencies/Qualifications:
  • Preferred working knowledge of garment and textile manufacturing processes. Experience in sewing construction- a plus!
  • Preferred at least 1-2 years of experience in Quality Control
  • Have a strong eye for detail
  • Ability to interact and participate in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-driven environment
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic mathematics
  • Passionate about delivering great product and value to our customers
Working Conditions:
  • Typical warehouse environment (with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels)
  • Concentrated mental and visual attention with a high degree of manual dexterity and visual attention for sustained periods
  • Repetitive hand motions
  • Requires continuous physical activity and the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
  • Requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching and continuous sitting for long periods
