Overland Sheepskin is a tradition in Taos, New Mexico, where we opened our first location in 1973 near the historic central plaza. Today, our store is part of the Overland compound just north of the village near Taos Mountain, the Taos Ski Valley, and the Taos Pueblo. Brimming with Native American and Southwestern charm, Taos (population 6,000) is an outdoor destination for hiking, river rafting, skiing and snowshoeing. There's also great shopping, eating, and relaxing in the beautiful gardens overlooking the Taos Mountain. After you visit Overland, be sure to see the wild creations of Taos native Joe Graves, who turns tree stumps into chairs and ancient logs into ancient-looking tables. A visiting archeologist examined a wagon Joe made from bristlecone pine branches and estimated it to be 500 years old.
The first Overland Sheepskin opened in 1973 in a small adobe storefront in Taos, New Mexico, offering sheepskin apparel made with meticulous craftsmanship. 50 years, 18 stores, and one thriving internet business later, the small family shop atmosphere has remained the backbone of our business, a passion for quality matched with exceptional service.
Look us up on your next trip. You'll find a friendly, knowledgeable staff waiting to help you choose the perfect Overland merchandise to suit your needs and taste. We look forward to meeting you.
