Is this boot a good choice for walking in urban areas for errands. Sometimes two or more miles?

Answer:

Yes if you are used to wearing a small heal these boots will be very comfortable.

Do I need to spray/treat these boots to protect from water and salt or do they come treated?

Answer:

The boots are waterproofed already. You can treat these if you would like. We suggest testing a small area first and using Scotchguard protectant.

Wore Out The First Pair Time to Buy Again

I purchased the tan pair about 3-4 years ago and have worn them out. This time I'm buying a black pair. I love them! Easy side zip to get in/out. I'm 5'1" so I like having a bit of a heel. My feet stay warm and dry in our Midwest Winters. A little heavy for the knee if you are doing true hiking but as a casual boot for every day wear they are great!

Nice but...

Nice looking well made boot but very hard on the feet, it's like standing on wood blocks all day. I'm going to have to buy inserts to make them bearable and I really didn't want to put an insert over the wool lining. I expected a little more comfort for the money.
