So many positives with one giant deal-breaker exception
These boots are gorgeous. Beautifully made. Jet black. Thick genuine shearling inside. Easy to get on and off. Thick, durable sole. Exactly the classic design, made-to-last boots I've spent years looking for. I don't have the easiest feet account of a narrow heel and a high arch. The toe box is rounded, generous and doesn't crowd my toes. These boots fit perfectly. That's rare to find. HOWEVER, I bought them not only for their classic design and genuine shearling but for their being advertised as WATERPROOF. However, the tags on the boots state "WATER RESISTANT." That's entirely different and they will not keep my boots or feet dry. They will not last nearly as long. I live in Oregon and was counting on these boots being my everyday footwear for the fall and winter when it rains a lot. I was prepared to invest in these boots. They are expensive. Their quality warrants it and they will last years and years by taking good care of them but not in my climate. The advertising is misleading. It's false. I cannot afford boots at nearly $300 that will be ruined by the climate instead of protecting me from it. I am very disappointed. The company needs to change their product description. I had a long talk with a customer service rep and she was wonderful, very receptive, and told me she'd pass this info onto the top. PLEASE keep this exact design and come up with a waterproof version. Change the suede to another kind of leather (oiled leather, for instance, that can be waterproofed with mink oil) and keep everything exactly the same. Please. Thank you! PS I see that there are products available to waterproof suede. However, these boots are very expensive for me and I cannot take the chance that they will truly be waterproof.
