technical footwear and great slipper
For those of us who don't know, shearling and sheepskin are different products.
- Shearling is not sheepskin. The wool typically wears off quickly.
- Sheepskin is the skin and the wool still intact (not shorn and glued on to another leather or fabric; not
shearling).
Also, to reduce Plantar fasciitis, wear footwear with a rigid sole and a soft midfoot to reduce impact on the heel.
It was HARD for me to find 100% sheepskin slippers with a 100% sheepskin footbed, and these were the least expensive I found.
I wear an 8.5 (US). The site said for half sizes to order down, so I bought the 8. It fit snuggly, and after several days it fit perfectly and remains a perfect fit nine months later.
My feet find these slippers to:
- be comfortable,
- have enough support for my plantar fasciitis, and
- mold to my feet (which gives me even better support).
Plus I wear them all day every day, and they don't stink yet.
The only thing I don't like about these slippers is that the wool started coming off at the heel after a few months.
Nonetheless, they appear to me to be sheepskin. I'll buy them again.
