Our classic sheepskin B-3 bomber jacket is a timeless heavyweight, modeled after the original WWII shearling jackets that kept American bomber crews warm in unpressurized cabins at altitudes over 30,000 feet. Made from genuine South African Curly Merino sheepskin, our special-edition sheepskin B-3 bomber jacket delivers unbeatable function and enduring style in a handsome new color with a soft hand and contrast piping. Plush sheepskin continues throughout the body, the arms, and detachable hood and trims the roll-back cuffs and hem. Aged brass hardware, a sturdy zip-front closure, two hand-warming pockets, an interior zip pocket, and adjustable buckled side tabs complete this iconic winter jacket.

Is the interior Merino sherling? The tan exterior is sheepskin or leather?
Answer:
Shearling is a sheepskin or lambskin pelt that has been shorn once for a wool finish that's uniform in look, length, and feel. Tanned with the wool intact, this coat features a sueded leather surface on one side and shorn wool on the other.

Do you suggest I purchase it one size up? I wear garments between Large and Extra Large, but I am having a tough time deciding between the two sizes.

This coat is a generous, relaxed size so you should not need to size up from the Large.

Love the whole process of ordering, customer service, and and product. However the choice of shipping company should be changed. Was unable to sign for delivery , lucky that my neighbor was home to secure my item. UPS should be offered and used

Never spent this much on any clothing item . No regrets, worth every penny. A rare comment to say a coat costing this much is worth it! Came wrapped in tissue paper. Garment bag was next . High quality garment bag. Very nice wooden hanger with Overland logo. Then OMG!!! The coat!! Beautiful color, napa finish outside so soft. Fleace inside feels like a microfiber blanket. Med tan color. Fleace light brown. Haven't worn it out yet. I'm sure I'll get numerous compliments! Thank Overland for a high quality product

It's like an old friend from the first try-on!

Feels like a blanket on your body and has a great fit with the bottom of coat coming up just high enough to look like an old bomber. I've had many a compliment thrown my way- often by complete strangers. I recommend this jacket- it's worth it.

This is my favorite jacket I own. It looks good with everything! You can dress it up or wear it with cowboy boots. It's super warm and I'm always complimented on it.

I don't know why is jacket worth the price. Not thick, not warm, curly sheepskin is stiff and feels like an old jacket that hasn't been cleaned for decades. Other jackets with lower price is much more warm and comfortable. Maybe this is for someone living the desert environment? At least not for me in Minnesota.

I just got this item. It fits well. It is also a sheepskin and it has not been cold enough to wear it. the coat looks beautiful and feels great. Overland sent me a bag for the coat which I thought was a GREAT touch.
