Canvas Trapper Hat with Rabbit Fur Trim

Sizing needs to be reviewed. The medium is not a medium for men. And the leather chinstrap is not of good quality. Overall, a basic hat.

Based on the size chart I was a medium, but after receiving the item it is too small. The other disappointment is that the fur is not lined throughout the inside of the hat. So the cap area, top of your head and above the ears is just a lining, and it is fluorescent orange. The rest of the hat is fine and appears as the pic online. But I think the quality of the manufacture could be improved. I sew and I can tell you that the construction is average to below average. With that said it doesn't look bad, and it will serve its function, but I did expect a little more. I am contemplating if I should request a return or exchange for another size. One reviewer did say the sizing was not consistent, and that a size up was no different than the size they originally ordered. If I do an exchange I will come back and let you know how it worked out and if I get to test it here in our extremely cold and windy Wyoming winters. Also one last note, it is Made in China.

well, it IS fur where you can see in the picture. The exterior coloring and look is the same as the picture. packaging was nice and shipping was quick. I'm disappointed in the level of insulation on the inside. It actually has a cotton liner and polyester interlining which isn't listed in the product details online (its hunter orange on the inside btw). I can shine a flashlight up into the hat and see how thin the weave is. Good looking hat but not as robust as I hoped...I'd have to wait for cold weather to see if it lives up to the three stars or exceeds that.

I had my old Air Force issue hat of this style that finally gave up the ghost. It was a size medium so I ordered this in a medium. I didn't notice the size chart. When I received the hat it was too small. I then measured my head which I should have done the first time. It came out right at the high end of the medium range. So I returned it and figure the Large would be perfect. Well, the large felt the same as the medium. When I called customer service, I was told that this style hat runs small this year. Would be nice if the description said that. I sent the Large back and asked for an XL. To be honest, this is also not much different than the large but at least I can wear it without getting a headache. Hat is very warm, but is a pain to thread the strap through the buckle. A snap would be a nice feature. Also, why does a hat in this price range have to be made in China? This is not a cheap hat. I'd gladly pay even more for a hat made in the USA.

We went snowshoeing in main in 5 degree temperature and this is the best hat I've ever had to keep my head warm! I kept it on all weekend, even in the cabin because it was so comfortable and warm! Highly recommend this hat!!!

Got this to replace one I've had for 40 years. Very warm, fits well, well made. The only thing I wish were different, my old one had an adjustable, snap together chin strap. This one has an old fashion slide buckle on leather straps. Slide is the key word here, because that is what it does. Can't pull it up tight, it just slides back. This and the fact that you have to take your gloves off to lace it threw the metal buckle. Very fiddly. Not good when out in the cold. Snap strap would be a great improvement.

This hat is done right. I was looking at many, and this was a quite a bit more expensive then others but my wife preferred the look. Long and short, I looked at a few others at retail stores and after receiving this one it was clear the craftsmanship and the materials were head and shoulders the best. I took a walk in negative wind chills and had no issue, the rabbit fur is plus and warm, the hat when strapped covers your side and back neck, and even some around the front. Worth the cost and glad I have it!!
