Shearling Sheepskin Trapper Hat

I bought this hat cause it is the only one I could find that had snap closures instead of ties. I thought the strap and snap design was very clever. When your ears are cold and your hands are full, its nice not to have to tie a bow under your chin. I bought a large which is my correct size but the strap was way too tight to fasten under my chin. I returned it and tried an XL but it was only slightly better. The more I studied the hat, the more I realized that it is just not designed properly. The ear flaps are too short or the strap is too short to fasten under the chin of an adult. I sadly had to return the XL also. It's a shame cause it is really a well made, high quality hat. If you do not have need to tie the ear flaps down, buy it! It's a great hat!

Everything this company makes is THE highest quality with great design, you just can't ask for more. Near perfect Sheepskins and second to none craftsmanship. I own 2 other Sheepskin items from Overland. I wouldn't buy anywhere else.

I spent a lot of time choosing between different materials and fur, and settled on the Shearling Sheepskin Trapper hat because it had a leather shell, full fur interior, snaps instead of strings, snap storage for the chin band and adjustable headband. I was tempted to purchase this on the "A" site, but did not want to risk getting a knockoff, and thought it would be better to purchase from the source and support the company directly. I read that the hat sizing tends to be slightly smaller, and I have a 22 1/4 head (which is medium on this size chart) but I decided to choose the large, because it had the headband tightener just in case the fit was loose. Upon arrival, the large size fits my head perfectly without using the tightener. I chose the skeepskin because it is warmer than rabbit fur. My only criticism of this hat, is that I wish Overland offered this black leather shell with brown or grey fur :)

It's perfect for cold wintry days. Keeps you warm and dry without becoming overheated. Very comfortable.

The hat is super warm, comfortable and stylish! I immediately conditioned the leather with our home made leather salve and it feels super supple and looks lustrous. Thanks for the quality you offer. Look forward to using this in the negative teen windchill we get in WI.
