Truly superb. Size down.
Let's start with the obvious. Any coat with a "3" at the front of a four-digit price tag gives one pause. I debated internally for a while, then ordered the black version after a very good year. And. Wow. This is the ultimate jacket.
Unlike other expensive leather jackets that feel overwhelming (am I cosplaying a WWI pilot?), this one is ownable, something you wear instead of it wearing you. Solid but not flashy. Thick goatskin, strong enough to handle real outdoor moisture. Zippers are perfect, sleeve snaps adjust cleanly, pockets are just right inside. It's weighted so it swings lightly on your torso, even though it's warm enough for an icy hiking trail. Warm, but not too warm - you won't suffocate commuting to work.
The best part is the tailoring. Large leather coats are tough to get right; some make you feel like you're wearing a giant box. This coat's shorter length and subtle "V" in the silhouette let it drape around your torso rather than weigh you down.
Any negatives? I wasn't sure about the double-flap front, which makes the layered black + brown + shearling collar look a bit like a Georgia O'Keeffe painting. But it all works when zipped and snapped to keep cold air out. I'd suggest wearing the collar up - the coat looks more intentional that way.
Re sizing: consider going down a notch. I'm 5'10", 195 lbs, athletic build, usually a 44 or 45R suit jacket. After reading reviews, I sized down to a 42 and it fits perfectly - enough room to move, snug enough for a T-shirt, but with space for a sweater.
Re color: beware the "black" version in the main catalog photo is really a very dark chocolate brown. That's actually a benefit - it works with both black and brown boots, and the tone gives contrast without looking like you left your biker gang outside. I'd go black, not brown, if you're on the fence.
Look, nobody needs a jacket that starts with a 3. But maybe, just maybe, you've earned it.
