I had a similar type of small leather backpack before this one, but had to replace it because the trim of the shoulder belts was not leather (painted man-made material) and cracked like all other less well-made bags would do. That backpack was intact but the shoulder belts felt cheap and uncomfortable to touch. This backpack is all leather. It is so comfortable to touch when you hold it in your hands. It is relatively small. Thus, it is not for books. But the size is adequate for a purse. You will not be disapointed. I have both brown/tan and red. It is good for my back health. The picture here does not do its justice, but the colors are shown truthfully.
